← Fugy

Fugy — the house mark & five for the art of the fugue

Fugy is the app's own mark: two voices chasing the punctus in a round — the fugue itself, in motion. Below it, five candidate device marks: the theme stated, turned upside down, chased as a round, crossed voice against voice, and broken off. Every mark carries the punctus — the note against which the other note is set — and each takes its hue one perfect fifth further round the circle of fifths. Pick an operation to run all five through the fugue's own transformations.

Operation

Recto — as written · Inversion — every interval turned upside down · Retrograde — the subject read from the last note back · Mirror — both at once. Affects medium & large; favicon and small stay recto. Hover a mark to fill its punctus.

Each row: the same mark at favicon (16), small (24), medium (44) and large (80), plus the entry drawn as an animation.
